Twelve firms to join Polish Defense Group

Polish government announced it will transfer 12 defense companies it owns into newly formed Polish Defense Group, a company that will include some of the biggest arms producers owned by Polish Treasury.

Tentatively the Group will encompass over 30 companies, including the ones from Polish Defense Group and will be overseen by Ministry of Treasury.

The idea to further consolidate Polish defense industry was announced last year. According to Minister of Defense Tomasz Siemoniak such a move is necessary to “process larger military contracts and improve Poland’s position on the foreign markets dominated by huge international companies.”
