A record 1.1 million sqm of warehouse space was leased in Poland in the first quarter of this year, which is the best Q1 result in the history of the Polish market, according to the latest report by JLL. The volume allows one to be optimistic about the prospects for the coming months, argued Tomasz Mika, the head of the company’s industrial department in the country. The supply of new warehouse space reached the level of 268,000 sqm, of which 176,000 sqm was completed in Central Poland. A further 1.8 million sqm was under construction at the end of Q1. The big demand and the relatively small supply led to a decrease in the average vacancy rate to 5.6% in Q1 2018, the JLL study said.
