British tabloid The Sun has named Warsaw one of the best Christmas shopping destinations in Europe alongside Paris, Sofia, Budapest and Bucharest.

The Sun saw Warsaw as a “city full of cosy bars and restaurants”, and one which “really comes into its own at Christmas”. The authors of the ranking recommend that tourists visit the city’s three main markets: located in the Old Town, Castle Square and at the foot of the Palace of Culture and Science, which will be up and running from 27 November until Boxing Day. The tabloid chose traditional Christmas baubles, made from blown glass, as the perfect souvenir to take home.
