Polish Olympian Tomasz Zieliński has been removed from the Olympic competition after he was tested positive for the banned substance nandrolone. The followup examination of the “B” sample has confirmed the initial result.
Zieliński asserted that he is innocent of doping and that anabolic steroid nandrolone is “a substance from the Middle Ages.”
Zieliński is the 2016 European Champion and the younger brother of 2012 London Gold Medalist Adrian Zielinski. Both of them were scheduled to compete in the 94kg category in Rio.
