American household appliance producer Whirlpool, which acquired Italian Indesit last year, is planning huge investments in Poland ,Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
By 2018, the American company is going to earmark some €235 million, thus roughly PLN 1 billion to develop its production plants in Wrocław, Łódź and Radomsko. “This means transfers of production capacity of best selling products generating high gross margins such as dish washers, washing machines and cookers,” Nicola De Guida, country general manager at Whirlpool EMEA told Rzeczpospolita. At the same time, the company asserted is is not going to shut down any production plants in Poland.
Poland is Europe’s largest household appliance producer. Last year, the domestic production output exceeded 20 million units, an increase of 13 percent on a yearly basis.
