The Polish Council of Shopping Centres (PRCH) is the most important association of investors and shopping centre owners and retailers in Poland. Each year PRCH awards prizes in a number of categories for the most successful investments and shopping centres-related activities.
The winner of this year’s competition in the category New Shopping Centre of 2016 is Zielone Arkady. It is the most modern and the largest shopping centre in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie province. The nomination and the prize prove that the Bydgoszcz investment has got the recognition from the representatives of the entire real estate sector. Not more than a month earlier Zielone Arkady won a prize at the Prime Property Prize 2016 competition as the Investment of the Year – Commercial Areas Market.
Zielone Arkady is one of the largest shopping centres built by ECE Projektmanagement Polska Sp. z o.o. in Poland so far and the largest shopping, services and entertainment centre in Bydgoszcz. In an area of 51 thousand square metres there are more than 200 shops, restaurants, coffee shops and services centres. The cost of the investment was approximately 150 million Euro. The centre was opened in 2015 and won the position of region leader thanks to its perfect location in the city centre, diversified tenants profile and one-of-a kind architectonic solutions. The retail area has been leased in 100%.
Since as early as 1965 ECE has operated as a shopping centres designer and developer. It has let its centres on lease and managed them on a long-term basis. In European market it is an unquestioned leader in this business segment. At 196 shopping malls managed by ECE (out of which 43 are managed by MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG) in 15 countries, around 21,000 shops located in an area of 7.2 million square metres generate a turnover of 23 billion Euros per annum. in Istanbul (Turkey), recently opened Aquis Plaza in Aachen and Zielone Arkady in Bydgoszcz. Currently, new shopping malls are being designed and constructed in Europe. Within the framework of its Office Traffic and Industries departments business ECE has also realized facilities having a totally different target. These include, for instance, the Germany-based Philips head office in Hamburg, ThyssenKrupp head office in Essen and the Steigenberger Hotel at Berlin airport (BER).
