The surplus in the euro area trade turnover (seasonally unadjusted) with the rest of the world amounted to €23 billion in May 2019 against €16.9 billion surplus in the previous year, the EU statistical office Eurostat provided.
In May 2019, exports of euro area countries (seasonally unadjusted) increased by 7.1 percent y/y and amounted to €203.4 billion, while imports increased by 4.2 percent y/y and amounted to €180.3 billion.
