Poland can expect to lose even €13 billion in the new long-term budget of the European Union compared to the project of the European Commission from more than a year ago, Rzeczpospolita daily has learned.

That project was not beneficial to the country neither. It envisioned a total of €91.4 billion for Poland, i.e. €14.5 billion less than is provided for in the current budget period 2014-2020 (calculated in constant prices from 2018). This was the effect of both a decline in revenues (after the expected Brexit), the need to finance new goals and a change in the criteria for granting EU funds.

The negotiations on the new budget for 2021-2027 are being accelerated by Finland. From November 1, a new term of the European Commission, chaired by Ursula von der Leyen, begins. Its priority is to be the so-called green order, which is expected to cost a lot.
