Jeronimo Martins, the owner of Biedronka, is planning to build one of the largest distribution centers in Poland near Łódź. The facility will be similar in size to the existing center in Stawiguda, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The company has already obtained a building permit from the district office in Opoczno, although construction has not yet begun. This will be Jeronimo Martins' 18th distribution center in Poland and the third in the Łódź Voivodeship, alongside centers in Rawa Mazowiecka and Sieradz.
The new distribution center will span over 35,000 square meters and feature modern inventory management systems, intelligent lighting, and eco-friendly solutions to minimize environmental impact. It will employ around 200 forklifts, 175 trucks, and 1,000 refrigerated containers. To operate the facility, several hundred employees will be required.
