The Polish Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy is reviewing air traffic forecasts and passenger capacity at Warsaw's Chopin Airport as part of an ongoing assessment of the Central Communication Port (CPK) project. Deputy Minister Maciej Lasek announced the review includes modernization options and environmental constraints.
Officials met to discuss the CPK program and the future of airports in the Masovian Voivodeship, focusing on Chopin Airport, Modlin Airport, and Radom Airport. Lasek mentioned that all three airports face unique challenges, and the goal is to ensure they can meet future aviation demands.
CPK's President, Filip Czernicki, highlighted the importance of coordinating with Chopin Airport and Modlin Airport to avoid unnecessary spending and plan infrastructure efficiently. The CPK project aims to build a major transfer hub west of Warsaw, integrating air, rail, and road transport. Design and fieldwork continue, but new financial obligations are on hold pending the ongoing audit.
