According to CRIF, 18% of Poles used buy now, pay later (BNPL) services in the past 12 months—well above the 11% average in Italy, Germany, France, and the UK. Between January and May 2025 alone, 1.4 million Poles used BNPL, compared with 1.7 million for all of 2024. The service’s growing popularity reflects demand for flexible payments that avoid immediate household budget impact. CRIF’s Kamil Gosławski sees strong growth potential, with BNPL likely expanding into more retail sectors and becoming increasingly personalized through AI.

The average BNPL transaction in early 2025 was PLN 283, a figure expected to rise. However, Gosławski warns that financial education is vital to prevent excessive debt.
