AI Act will come into force on August 2
Most provisions of the EU AI Act will begin applying on August 2, 2026, covering companies that develop AI systems as well as those using tools supplied by external providers. Polish businesses are adopting AI faster than they are creating governance and cybersecurity procedures. Although 77 percent have implemented or are implementing AI, only 55 percent have a formal strategy, and just 43 percent have trained all employees. Meanwhile, 16 percent began introducing AI rules but stopped, while another 8 percent are only planning them.
Companies must identify AI tools, assign responsibility, assess risks, train employees, and regularly update procedures. Penalties for noncompliance may reach 10 percent of global revenue.
