Airports handled 66.26 mln passengers in ‘25
Polish airports handled a record 66.26 million passengers in 2025, according to Polish Airports (PPL), growing about three times faster than the European average. Forecasts prepared by IATA indicate that traffic will rise to 73.3 million passengers in 2026. Growth is expected to accelerate in the next decade, reaching about 95 million passengers in 2033, when a new central airport planned under the Port Polska project is scheduled to open. The symbolic milestone of 100 million passengers annually could be exceeded by 2035. Regional airports remain the backbone of the system, handling 63% of total traffic.
Despite strong growth, officials warn that existing infrastructure is approaching capacity, highlighting the need for expansion and better integration of regional airports with the future national hub.
