The global sales service wants to hire as many as 10,000 seasonal workers in Poland for the pre-Christmas period. to handle orders in logistics centers. This is more than half of the permanent staff, which also increased this year by 2,000 people. The company wants to attract seasonal workers with attractive remuneration and benefits from the first day of work, but also with development opportunities.
“We have started recruiting for 10,000 of seasonal positions. We are looking for employees who will come to us in the pre-Christmas period and will support us in the implementation of orders for our clients.” Magdalena Zagrodnik, regional HR manager of Amazon Fulfillment Poland, said.
Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014. During this time, it created nine modern logistics centers: in Sady near Poznań, Sosnowiec, Kołbaskowo near Szczecin, Bielany Wrocławskie (two facilities), Łódź, Pawlikowice near Łódź, Okmiany near Bolesławiec and Gliwice. Two of them, in Gliwice and Łódź, were launched in 2020. The company also created the Technology Development Center in Gdańsk, as well as a corporate office and a branch of Amazon Web Services in Warsaw. In total, Amazon employs 18,000 permanent employees in Poland, of which 2,000 joined the company this year.
The fourth quarter is a period of preparation for increased Christmas traffic. Hence the large scale of seasonal recruitment in Amazon.
“We are mainly looking for entry level employees, people who are 18 years old and ready to work in shifts. What is important to us is attention to detail, work ethic and timeliness in delivering tasks, because these people have a direct impact on the shipment of orders to our customers,” Magdalena Zagrodnik emphasized.
