American Anti-drone MEROPS system arrives in Poland
Poland has deployed the American MEROPS anti-drone system along NATO’s eastern flank, the Ministry of Defence announced. Developed by Anduril Industries, MEROPS uses radar, EO/IR sensors and AI to detect, track and neutralize drones, even under GPS or signal interference. The system has already been tested in combat in Ukraine, where it proved effective against Russian drones. It can operate autonomously or feed targeting data to other units. It remains unclear whether Poland purchased the system or whether it was provided temporarily by the U.S. as part of allied support.
Meanwhile, Poland is developing its own national anti-drone shield, with domestic production planned from 2026. MEROPS is likely to serve as an interim capability.
