Analysts: Inflation caused in part by rising salaries in Poland
In September 2024, consumer prices rose by 4.9% year-on-year, with analysts predicting inflation will remain around 5% until the end of the year. The surge in prices is attributed to significant wage increases.
David Sułkowski from the Polish Economic Institute noted that inflation is partly driven by energy price adjustments and increasing service costs, which rose by 6.2%. ING analysts also expect inflation to stay elevated due to baseline effects and teacher wage hikes.
A decrease in inflation is anticipated after Q1 2025.
