European benchmark gas prices reached their highest level since late 2022, with Dutch TTF futures rising 0.7% to €88.12 per MWh after an earlier 2% gain. Traders are concerned about winter supply after an LNG tanker reported being fired on near Yemen and Qatari exports remained below pre-conflict levels. EU storage is 74.5% full, well below the five-year seasonal average of 89.1%; Germany is at 61%. Poland is better prepared, with storage at 98.9%, slightly above its 98.4% five-year average.

Bloomberg Intelligence sees prices potentially reaching €102 per MWh, 15% to 20% above current levels, despite milder weather forecasts. Risks include uncertain weather and competition from Asia for LNG cargoes.
