Ares Shield AI raises PLN 1 million from private investors in the first round of funding
Ares Shield AI has begun work on Sentinel Space Layer, described as Europe’s first integrated defense platform designed to protect satellites from anti-satellite (ASAT) threats and counter drone swarms in airspace. The company raised PLN 1 million from private investors in its first funding round and is now focused on R&D and building a prototype.
The system combines high-power microwave (HPM) technology with artificial intelligence, advanced radar, and multi-domain sensors. It is designed to operate both in orbit, shielding satellites, and on the ground, protecting critical infrastructure. The non-kinetic HPM beam neutralizes electronics without creating debris. Initial demonstrations are planned within 6–18 months, with full operational capability targeted in about five years.
