Asian countries opening up to Polish meat

Poland is a leading meat exporter in the EU—#1 in poultry, #6 in beef, and #4 in pork production. In 2024, meat and meat product exports reached €10.94 billion, making up 20.4% of agri-food exports. With saturated EU markets and rising plant-based trends, Poland seeks growth in East and Southeast Asia. Despite past trade restrictions due to avian flu and ASF, several countries, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and the Philippines, have reopened or expanded access to Polish meat.
In 2024, Poland exported 148,100 tons of meat to Asia, mostly lower-value poultry parts. While Asia represents under 2% of meat export value today, the region offers strong long-term potential.
