BIEC: Future Inflation Index drops fourth time in a row

Future Inflation Index (WPI), forecasting several months in advance the direction of changes in prices of consumer goods and services, fell by 0.7 points in August, compared to the value a month before, the Investment and Economic Cycles Office (BIEC) said. This is the fourth drop in a row.
BIEC announced that in June this year WPI amounted to 76.8 points, and in July it was 76.1 points.
Prices of consumer goods and services in July 2019 increased by 2.9 percent y/y and stayed at the same level compared to the previous month, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.
However, it should be noted that inflation in food and alcohol was 6.8 percent, while services - 4.2 percent on annual basis.
