BIEC: future inflation index falls in May

The Future Inflation Index (WPI), forecasting the direction of changes in prices of consumer goods and services several months in advance, in May 2019 again decreased, the Bureau of Investment and Economic Cycles (BIEC) has reported. Despite this, in the opinion of BIEC, consumers are still afraid that prices will grow faster than before. “Higher prices of food products and gasoline have the greatest impact on the perception of inflation by consumers,” BIEC explained.
