The first payments from the Reconstruction Fund could reach Poland in September or October, opposition MEPs claim. They believe the money could have reached our country if not for some government decisions.

Poland submitted its National Recovery Plan to the European Commission in early May. Some member states did it earlier, others later. Several plans have already been accepted by the EC. According to unofficial information from the Polish Press Agency, the Polish plan will also be accepted in the coming days.

As Jan Olbrycht (PO), member of the European Parliament, said at a press conference in the European Parliament, the KPO was submitted by Poland to the European Commission “late”.

There were member states that submitted it before us. These member states will be able to receive an advance payment presumably in July. The Polish plan is currently being negotiated. (...) Let us remember that Poland asked for prolongation of works on the plan, which means that Poland submitted not so much a plan, as a draft plan, which was still underdeveloped. We hope that it will be refined - he said.

According to MEP Andrzej Halicki (PO), it is crucial for Poland to receive the funds as soon as possible. - The first member states will receive them any moment now. Our National Reconstruction Plan will still be analysed and probably amended - he said.

We submitted a well-prepared and final document, which was accepted by the Council of Ministers. It is the result of the work of the government and socio-economic partners,” Buda pointed out at the time.

After the European Commission accepts the plans of particular states, they will still be approved by the Council of the European Union.
