BLIK system still recovering from DDoS attack over the weekend
The operator of the BLIK payment system reported on Monday via social media that it is currently experiencing a DDoS cyberattack, which may temporarily disrupt payment transactions. This is the second such incident in recent days. The company stated that work is underway to restore full system stability. A similar attack occurred on Saturday, when the Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, confirmed disruptions in Poland’s payment infrastructure caused by external DDoS activity.
This type of attack overloads servers with excessive traffic, leading to service outages. BLIK is a widely used mobile payment system managed by Polski Standard Płatności. In 2024, it handled 2.4 billion transactions worth over PLN 347 billion.
