Budimex shows interest in road, hydrotechnical and railway projects in Czech Republic

Polish construction giant Budimex is expanding its operations in the Czech Republic and plans to bid on road, hydrotechnical, and railway projects there. It is currently executing two major contracts: the D35 highway segment and a dry flood-control reservoir in Kutřín, scheduled for completion in 2027. The Kutřín project—Czechia’s largest flood-control structure since the 1970s—includes dam construction, riverbed redirection, and environmental upgrades. Budimex has already completed a temporary bridge to maintain traffic flow.
With extensive experience in large water infrastructure projects in Poland, Budimex sees this Czech venture as a strategic step. The Kutřín contract exceeds CZK 500 million and is commissioned by Povodí Labe. Budimex is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and part of the WIG20 index.
