The index of the economic situation in the industry in December 2020 increased, and the prospects for further development are positive, according to a study by the Institute of Economic Development of the Warsaw School of Economics (IRG SGH).
The business climate index in the processing industry (IRGIND) increased its value during the month by 8.4 points, to the level of minus 7.8 points. The authors of the study informed that for the first time since February 2019 it is higher than the value from the corresponding month of the previous year.
IRG SGH stated that companies report an increase in total production and order volumes. The volume of export orders decreased, albeit slightly, the level of employment increased, and the financial situation of producers and their moods improved.
"Despite the improvement in opinion, companies still assess the overall economic situation in the country very badly," it was written.
"The forecasts regarding the development of the situation in the processing industry and the economy in the coming months should be considered extremely optimistic," IRG SGH added.
