Canada’s Northland Power raises PLN 500 mln for energy storage in Poland
Northland Power secured about PLN 500 million in financing from Canadian and Polish institutions for two battery storage projects under construction in Poland. Mieczysławów will provide 200 MW and 800 MWh, while Kamionka will provide 100 MW and 400 MWh, for combined capacity of 300 MW and 1.2 GWh. The projects also received PLN 280 million in grants from Poland’s National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. Total investment is estimated at PLN 1 billion.
Kamionka is scheduled to begin commercial operations in early 2028 and Mieczysławów in mid-2028. Northland expects annual adjusted EBITDA of CAD 40 million to CAD 50 million, partly supported by 17-year inflation-indexed auction contracts.
