Cognor Holding launches modern rolling mill in Siemianowice Śląskie for ammunition steel
Cognor Holding plans to issue up to 60 million new shares to raise funds for expanding production capacity—especially in defense-grade steel used for ammunition and armored vehicles. The proceeds will finance technological upgrades and expansion of the Ferrostal steel plant in Gliwice, enabling full self-sufficiency in steel feedstock for the group’s rolling mills.
Following a PLN 1.5 billion investment cycle, including a new rolling mill in Siemianowice Śląskie, Cognor aims to multiply ammunition steel output several times to meet soaring demand from Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) and NATO suppliers.
CEO Przemysław Sztuczkowski said the company seeks certification from global defense leaders like Rheinmetall, and expects the new investments to strengthen its position in the European defense, automotive, and aerospace sectors, while restoring free cash flow from 2026.
