Analysts from the research agency Kantar Polska emphasize that the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the last three months has increased almost to the high levels observed during the pandemic. Research indicates that Poles are very eager to include them in their menus, influenced not only by taste and seasonality but also by relatively low prices compared to other products. Additionally, the origin of favorite apples, raspberries, watermelons, or tomatoes also matters. By choosing these items from local crops, we can reduce our carbon footprint and care for the environment.

“The latest Kantar Polska study shows that the three most popular fruits in August are apples, plums, and raspberries. As for vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes, and cucumbers top the list. Apples are traditionally consumed very frequently and usually rank quite high in these lists. However, a month or two ago, strawberries were in the first place. On the other hand, plums did not appear in the rankings for purely summer fruits before, but now they have appeared and with very good results,” Kuba Antoszewski, an expert from Kantar Polska, said.
