Creotech leads ESA satellite platform project
Creotech Instruments signed a EUR 1.47 million agreement with the European Space Agency for work connected with the EU’s secure communications system IRIS2. The Polish space company will lead the consortium and take responsibility for the satellite platform and overall system integration, while Belgian company Aerospacelab will handle the radio payload and data processing.
The project, titled Consolidation Phase of IRIS2 Low LEO Pre-Operational and De-Risk Activities, will develop the service concept and mission architecture. Work includes defining government use cases, assessing compatibility with the wider IRIS2 architecture, specifying interfaces, interoperability and security requirements, and designing space, ground and user segments. Creotech is based in Piaseczno and has expanded its role in European institutional space programs through satellite platforms, integration work and missions commissioned by ESA. The assignment further strengthens Creotech’s position as a prime contractor in European satellite programs.
