Crisis enters the Polish labor market

According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), the unemployment rate in October remained at the same level as in September. However, according to economists, the situation will worsen soon. In their opinion, we should not be afraid of mass layoffs, but there will be far fewer opportunities to change jobs, so salaries will also stop growing.
Employment offices received 88,500 job offers in October, 11 percent less than the month before and 26.9 percent less than a year ago.
"This is less than a year ago. The effect of the poor economic performance will be to put new hires on hold. Fewer opportunities will make it more difficult to change jobs to get a raise – we expect wages to grow noticeably slower than inflation," the Polish Economic Institute wrote in a commentary.
