E-commerce market value in Poland is seen at PLN 187 bln by 2027 - Strategy & Polska
Consulting company Strategy & Polska forecasts the value of the e-commerce market in Poland to grow by more than PLN 94 billion to PLN 187 billion by 2027. The share of the marketplace model versus e-commerce stores is expected to increase to more than 55% in 2027 from 45% currently.
“E-commerce in Poland has the prospect of further development but sources of growth will change,” Strategy & Polska said in a statement. While in 2018-2021, customers mainly moved to e-commerce from other sales channels, such as the traditional stores, in 2022-2023, the main driving force behind the market growth is the increase in product prices amid weakening consumer demand. By turning to e-commerce, customers are able to compare prices and choose the best offer.
There have been several debuts on the Polish e-commerce market, which have a significant impact on the level of competition, the offer, prices, and value for customers. “Polish companies are facing a challenge, but also a business opportunity to improve their competitive position, " said Strategy & Polska director Maciej Bazyl cited in a statement.
