EBRD financing projects for commercial revitalization

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is financing projects commercial banks avoid, focusing on revitalization and rental housing (PRS). Since the war in Ukraine, EBRD has increased real estate investments to €500M annually, with 40% allocated to Poland. Over €400M has gone to PRS projects like Resi4Rent and Heimstaden, helping the market reach 20,900 units.
EBRD also supports logistics, investing €1.26B in 2024. It promotes sustainability, urging investors to certify green buildings. The bank partners with Habitat for Humanity to offer affordable rentals for excluded groups. EBRD is also exploring heritage revitalization and plans to invest €150-200M annually in Polish real estate over the next 3-4 years.
