Economic Migration Essential in Poland
Poland's low unemployment has dual effects: it deters investors worried about labor shortages for new jobs and makes the labor market less adaptable to changing needs. With most of the population employed, there's a chronic shortage of workers. For years, economic migration has been crucial for Polish businesses, especially in the FMCG sector, which faces peak demand in the third and fourth quarters. Companies strive to smooth out this seasonality but still face increased worker demand.
"We are fiercely competing for economic migrants, even from distant regions," Yuriy Grygorenko, chief analyst at Gremi Personal, said.
