Emmanuel Macron Sends Urgent Message for Europe
French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Europe faces imminent danger from Russia's invasion of Ukraine and urged the continent to wake up to the new threat. He said Europe must reduce its dependence on America for military defense and become more competitive in industries like renewables and artificial intelligence.
Macron's plan includes creating a new framework for European defense, increasing research spending, deregulating industries, and freeing up capital markets. He also wants European countries to specialize and achieve economies of scale.
Macron's ideas are seen as bold but risky. Some worry that his plans could distance America and leave Europe more vulnerable.
