Empik growing at double-digit rate, intends expansion

Empik, Poland’s leading books, music, and toys retailer, is accelerating growth with a strong omnichannel model. In 2024, GMV reached a record PLN 4.2 bln, up 15% y/y, with e-commerce now driving half of revenues—40% from the rapidly expanding marketplace, which grew sales 60% and is set to exceed PLN 1 bln in 2025. Its 370 stores complement online sales, with new openings boosting local e-commerce two- to threefold. Empik also invests in private labels, aiming for a double-digit sales share, particularly in lifestyle, school-office, and toy categories. Retail media, loyalty programs, and AI-powered personalization further enhance engagement.
Annual investments (~PLN 100 mln) focus on technology, logistics, and customer experience, while traditional books remain a stable revenue pillar.
