Energy sector preparing for flooding, crisis teams on standby

Between 8 and 10 July, Poland faces heavy rainfall and potential flooding. Major energy companies including Tauron, Enea, and PGE have activated crisis teams and are on high alert. Tauron has reinforced staff, secured equipment, and prepared its infrastructure, especially in the south-east. Enea reports no current threats but remains vigilant following earlier storm damage in late June. PGE confirms readiness, with detailed response procedures in place. While recent weather hasn’t harmed power plants, strong winds have caused some outages in distribution networks.
All operators are monitoring conditions closely and coordinating with crisis centers to ensure power supply continuity and rapid emergency response. Authorities warn of possible localized flooding due to torrential rain.
