Epidemic under control until end of April: Chinese expert

Zhong Nanshan, leading Chinese government advisor on the coronavirus epidemic expressed the belief that by the end of April the Chinese epidemic will be “essentially under control". He stressed that the number of new infections detected in this country is generally decreasing.
Zhong said that his earlier forecasts for the peak of the epidemic at the end of February had come true. He noted that the number of new cases detected abroad is recently higher than in China.
The head of the government's expert team on epidemics also referred to speculation about the country of origin of the coronavirus - emphasize Chinese media. Zhong told reporters that although the epidemic broke out in China, its source did not necessarily appear in that country.
"This is a disease of humanity, not of the country,” a Chinese scientist noted.
