eSky acquires Thomas Cook

Polish online travel platform eSky has acquired the rights to the iconic British brand Thomas Cook from Chinese conglomerate Fosun. This move will aid eSky's expansion into Western Europe. The acquisition includes a team of 70 employees, a vast customer base, and a business generating GBP 150 million in annual revenue. CEO Łukasz Habaj emphasized the strategic value of the deal, noting that it will diversify eSky's revenue by strengthening its dynamic travel packages segment. This shift will transform eSky from a company primarily selling flights into a comprehensive online travel agency. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, though Fosun originally paid GBP 11 million for Thomas Cook in 2018.
