Eurostat: inflation according to HICP in Poland in Oct amounted to 4.2% y/y
Inflation in Poland, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), stood at 4.2% y/y in October 2024, unchanged from September, according to Eurostat.
On a monthly basis, prices rose by 0.3%.
The HICP is a harmonized consumer price index calculated using a standardized methodology by the European Union's Statistical Office. It serves as the basis for assessing price stability under the inflation criterion outlined in the Maastricht Treaty.
HICP inflation data are derived from household budget expenditures and national accounts, while the Consumer Price Index (CPI) relies solely on household budget expenditures.
