Eurozone investor sentiment improved more strongly than expected in September, according to the Sentix Institute, reaching its highest level since February 2002. The index rose for a fifth consecutive month to 5.1, up from 0.9 in August and well above the expected 2.1. Sentix said the eurozone was moving decisively away from recessionary trends. The current situation index improved to -3.3 from -8.0, its strongest reading since March 2022, while the expectations index rose to a seven-month high of 13.8.

Germany also showed signs of improvement, with its investor sentiment index rising to -2.8, the highest since July 2025, despite expectations of tighter ECB monetary policy.
