Export to Germany up 16.4% in 2022

Polish exports to Germany increased by 16.4% y/y, reaching €96.4 billion in January-December 2022, while imports rose by 22% y/y to €73.9 billion, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Germany's share in Polish exports decreased by 0.9 percentage points to 27.9%, and in imports, it decreased by 0.7 percentage points to 20.2%.
The positive trade balance amounted to PLN 105.6 billion ($23.7 billion, €22.5 billion) compared to PLN 101.7 billion ($26.4 billion, €22.3 billion) in 2021.
In 2022, Poland's top ten trading partners accounted for 65.7% of exports and 62.5% of total imports, showing a slight change compared to 2021. Among Poland's major trading partners, only imports from Russia decreased by 7.4% in comparison to the same period in 2021.
