Orange Polska and INEA have signed an agreement expanding cooperation in the use of Fiberhost’s fiber network. Thanks to the new agreement, Fiberhost fiber will be provided to nearly 100 Orange base stations in Greater Poland, the companies said.
“For several years, we have been trying to take advantage of the opportunities offered by fiber-optic networks of other operators. Thanks to that, the infrastructure is not unnecessarily duplicated. We are glad to expand our existing good cooperation with INEA’s Fiberhost brand by another scope of activities - providing fiber-optic lines for mobile network needs,” said Orange Polska board member for networks and technology Piotr Jaworski, quoted in the release.
“The demand for high-speed mobile internet is growing very fast, which is why we are investing in the mobile network, increasing its capacity, launched #hello5G, offering the first experience of the new generation technology to about 6 million users. Ahead of us is the construction of the 5G network, which will need fiber. This collaboration will help us prepare for this challenge,” he added.
