Former councilor sentenced to two years in prison for abusing his wife
The District Court in Bydgoszcz has sentenced former PiS councilman Rafał P. to two years imprisonment, mainly for his mental and physical abuse of his wife. The court has also ordered him to pay PLN 75,000 to the victim. According to the court, the abuse went on for 12 years. The National Prosecutor’s Office found the sentence suggested by the previous public prosecutor – 30 hours of social work per month for two years – to be grossly disproportionate to the offense.
