Tomasz G., a former MP from PiS and Solidarna Polska, has been sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison, suspended for five years, for loan fraud. The District Court in Poznań found him guilty of using false documents and fictitious identities to obtain PLN 40,000 in loans. Charges related to an additional PLN 45,000 were dismissed due to the statute of limitations.

G.’s legal troubles date back over seven years, with delays caused by his parliamentary immunity and repeated sick leave filings. Though no longer in politics, he now runs a private university in Poznań, despite lacking a higher education degree. He faces another trial for allegedly defrauding the Chancellery of the Sejm of PLN 400,000 and embezzling nearly PLN 5 million from the university. The recent conviction is final, but appeals to the Supreme Court remain possible.
