The French Institute in Poland has opened its new Warsaw offices in the restored historic Bellona building. The space combines classrooms, offices and areas for cultural activities, supporting language teaching as well as events. Saint-Gobain Ecophon was responsible for the acoustic design and worked with Massive Design throughout the project. The interiors use Ecophon Solo ceiling islands and Ecophon Akusto One wall panels to control sound in teaching and shared spaces.
Post-completion measurements showed reverberation times of 0.5 seconds in classrooms and 0.6 seconds in the media library, while the speech clarity index, known as C50, measured plus 6 decibels. The institute identified acoustic quality as a requirement. The completed project combines the historic character of the Bellona building with contemporary interiors designed for learning, office work and cultural programming, according to information published by Eurobuild CEE on September 16.
