Fresh Logistics Polska has introduced its first electric refrigerated trailer equipped with an energy recovery system, marking a significant innovation in fresh logistics. This system allows the trailer's cooling unit to charge during driving and braking, reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by 30%. Thermo King's AxlePower technology captures kinetic energy from the trailer's movement and stores it in an "Energ-e Pack" battery. This advancement ensures optimal cargo temperature while minimizing environmental impact and operational costs.
The trailer was officially handed over in April, attended by representatives from Krone, Thermo King, and Fresh Logistics. This solution enhances fleet flexibility and compatibility with various tractor power sources without needing dedicated charging infrastructure, promoting sustainability and efficiency in the logistics industry.
