Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has announced tenders for two bypass roads, around Limanowa and Wadowice, along National Road 28. These are the first investments in the region under the government’s “100 Bypasses Program” (2020–2030). The Limanowa bypass (5.6 km) will be built in a “design and build” system, while the Wadowice bypass (1.4 km) will follow a traditional build-only process. Both aim to ease congestion and improve traffic flow in southern Poland.

The Wadowice route will shorten the existing road by nearly 0.5 km and divert roughly 15,000 vehicles daily from city streets. Additional bypasses are also being planned for other towns in the Małopolska region.
