The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) will receive over PLN 700 million from the National Reconstruction and Resilience Plan (KPO) to enhance road safety. The agreement was signed with the Centre for EU Transport Projects, with the total project value nearing PLN 1.1 billion.

The project includes 180 investments across GDDKiA-managed national roads. Planned improvements include nearly 80 km of sidewalks, over 50 km of pedestrian and bicycle paths, and around 9 km of bike-only trails. It also involves installing traffic signals at 14 intersections, enhancing 80 pedestrian crossings, building 21 roundabouts, marking 250 pedestrian crossings, and adding 109 pedestrian refuges. As of now, 111 of the 180 investments are completed, 68 are underway, and one is in the bidding stage.
