The Polish government has launched a PLN 270 mln program to create at least 30 Local Cybersecurity Centers. Local governments may apply through partnerships or consortia consisting of at least two municipalities, counties, or regional authorities. Funding will support employee training, cybersecurity equipment, threat detection systems, and infrastructure upgrades. The centers will operate as shared regional security operations centers, allowing local authorities to divide costs, exchange expertise, and coordinate incident response.

Applications will be accepted until October 30, 2026. The initiative follows earlier programs for local governments and water utilities. In 2025, Polish local authorities recorded 3,249 cybersecurity incidents, approximately 60% more than in 2024.
