Growth Rate of Prices in Stores Continues to Increase for Another Month

In July of this year, the most frequently purchased products became 3.9 percent more expensive y/y on average. This was revealed by an analysis of 69,100 prices from 31,800 stores. In June, the annual increase was 3.1 percent; in May, it was 2.9 percent. Additionally, it is evident that out of 17 monitored categories, 13 showed an increase y/y. 

This time, non-alcoholic beverages saw the highest price hike, rising by 15.6 percent y/y. In second place were food additives, with an increase of 11.2 percent y/y. Third place went to sweets and desserts, with a positive result of 9.3 percent y/y. The TOP 5 of the most significant price increases also include household chemicals and bread, with the increases of 8.7 percent and 6.4 percent y/y, respectively.
